ASIN Collector – Privacy Policy

1. Overview

ASIN Collector is a Chrome extension developed by Scintilla World that helps users collect Amazon product ASIN codes for their own research and affiliate marketing workflows. The extension processes information only on pages you visit and stores data locally in your browser. It does not send your data to external servers or third parties.

2. Information the Extension Accesses

When you use the extension, it may access:

The URL of the active tab on Amazon domains (e.g. amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, amazon.co.jp, amazon.com.au).
Elements on Amazon pages that contain ASINs (for example, product links or data-asin attributes).

A local history of ASINs, including:

ASIN code
Time captured
Generated product URL

            This information is used exclusively to display ASINs in the popup, maintain your local history, and let you download a CSV file.
        

3. Data Storage and Retention

All recorded ASIN history is stored using Chrome's chrome.storage.local on your device.

            No ASIN data, URLs, or browsing content are transmitted to any external server controlled by Scintilla World.
        

You can clear all stored ASINs at any time by clicking the Clear button in the extension popup, which deletes the history from chrome.storage.local.

4. Permissions

The extension requests the following permissions:

activeTab / tabs – to read the current Amazon page URL so ASINs can be extracted when you scan.

storage – to save your ASIN history, preferences (auto-scan, click-to-record), and to support CSV export.

Host permissions for Amazon domains – to run a content script only on Amazon sites in order to detect ASINs within page content.

            The extension does not run on other websites and does not track your activity outside Amazon domains.
        

5. Data Sharing

Scintilla World does not sell, rent, or share your ASIN data or browsing information with any third parties.

            No analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts are included in the extension. All processing happens locally inside your browser.
        

6. Children's Privacy

ASIN Collector is intended for use by adults and is not designed for children under 13. The extension does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect improvements or changes to the extension or to comply with Chrome Web Store requirements. When the policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the extension after an update means you accept the new terms.
